It’s true. Current legislation has authorized federal tax credits for energy efficiency for consumers at 30% of the cost, up to $1500, in 2009 and 2010 for existing homes. The tax credit is limited to energy saving home improvements, such as windows and doors, insulation, roofs, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, water heaters of the non-solar type and biomass stoves.
