Letter from Chris
Happy Spring. It is hard to believe but this is the 31st writing of this letter.I have used it to explain the topics of the day, how the weather had been or to explain changes we are going though. This year seems to be a bit different. It is a year of firsts. On March 1st we were blessed with our first granddaughter.A wonderfully health and bright eyed Maci Mae Voity.
We are all hoping to see the warm weather after such a long spell of winter. How many people have you heard say this was an “old fashion winter”?I looked around to see how this one ranked.By our records I found this last one was almost 9% colder than the last 20.The January thaw we all like lasted just a couple of days over the first weekend of 2011.This was trouble in our house because the snow never had a chance to melt off.In spite of my roof raking we still had ice dams and water damage inside the house.I understand this was not an unusual event this year.I checked out the snow cover this year and found that the snow pack was about 40% higher in the beginning of March than the 50 year average. It was not so much as we got a lot of extra snow; but more as the temperature did not let it settle. In fact this was the 1st year that I had snow trucked out of one of our yards!
So before the memories fade, think about ways in which we can save you money on your energy bills. The people for whom we installed new boilers, furnaces and other energy saving devices on average paid 10% less then what they had in the past; and this been when it was 9% colder! Give us a call to find out how. At Keyser Energy we are “Conserving today to protect tomorrow”. After all we have grandchildren to think of. Chris Keyser
